Circle Lord
Just wondering if the Circle Lord is worth the investment. Also wondering how fuzzy it is to use.
Thanks !

The giant templates are a blast. Tthe customer service is wonderful. I posted that I was having trouble connecting the main unit Micheal from the
company called me to help me. It is definitely fun. the big templates allow you to practice the feel of your machine while doing some very nice
work very quickly. I love the swirls template. It looks great on so many quilts.

The more I use my CL, the more I love love love it.
I'm not sure what you mean by "how fuzzy is it to use". It's pretty easy to work with.

For me, the CL was by far the best investment I have made. At first I thought it was too expensive, but it is so easy to use, that you will find
yourself using it all the time. I usually don't even practice - it is that easy.
I had a different circle maker and sold it because I never used it and the 3 times I tried it was a disaster. Now, that being said, other people have
this tool and say they love it. I have seen some crosshatching pictures posted, but that is about all. I would love to see what others do with this
one, but they don't post the pictures.
Anyway, it is a big decision. If you get a chance to go to a show where the CL will be, or if you know someone that has one, ask to see how it works.
Very, very easy to use.

I also like it for circles and have stuck with the zig zag template. But think about what/how much you will use those big templates that only offer
one pattern. For me, the investment of over $500 to get one design is just not worth it when I can use a panto to get he same results. Other than
that the circle maker is worth the investment.

Hi.
Michael and Kay are the inventors and owners. They are teriffic people and do anything they can to make the system work for you.
I had a small incompatability issue installing it on my Liberty. The stylus bracket hole on my machine was drilled in a differnet location than on a
Milly. Michael spent hours with us to get it all figured out and working. I guess there are only a few Liberty's with CLs, as this was the first such
issue he had.
He was a complete gentleman and a pleasure to work with. It was a challenge we all took on and he found a very simple solution. He suggested flipping
the mounting bracket and all was well. He was willing to make another part just for my machine. It turned out to be unnecessary but he was with us
100%.
Like our machines, the CL is an investment. You just have to decide if the designs are useful to you. As I see it, it is two products in one. One is
the stylus with fixed-size templates. This includes the swirls, squarz, Baptist Fans, etc. The other is the stylus and variable designs based on
shapes. These are the star-like, spirograph designs like the ovals, hearts, ginko.
It is a great product!

Anna,
You are getting some great information on templates. You can also run down through the posts under Gadgets and Goodies - Circle Lord and read some of
the posts there regarding favorite templates.
For King Templates I use the Baptist Fan, Zig Zag, Cables, Seven Treasures and Swirls. I have plans to purchase Square Dance and something else...but
my brain is not functioning well right now
For the smaller templates, I use the Featherz Wreath, Starz and 18" Crosshatch.
Everyone has their own favorites. Just start slow, watch the posts to see the templates that seem to be among the top for favorites. That will help
you decide where to start.

I have several of the smaller templates and they make me look like a great quilter. I have a king template too but haven't put it to use yet. My
favorite so far is the large cross hatch set with the solinoid lifting device. I do not quilt for money so my investments are my toys. Even though the
Circle Lord stuff is expensive I really enjoy having them. However if you are quilting for money I think they are a great investment. As Michael says
"time is money" and these CL products really cut down the length of time you spend on a quilt and the quilts always come out looking beautiful.

Can't say it enough, you MUST get the giant swirls template. It's $ in the bank!!! I have paid for it many times over and the customers are so
impressed. If only they knew how fast and easy it is. When I'm done w/a quilt and figure the price, I almost feel guilty that I'm making between
$15-$20 an hour!!

I agree, the giant boards, especially the giant swirls make me look good without much practice. Mary Beth says it all, great product and fabulous
customer service.
Michael is the most helpful business person I know of in the gadget world.
Thanks to Ramona Quilter, Linda Card for showing me how to use my Cl, great lady.

Regarding the Liberty and the Circle Lord. Mine installed with no problem whatsoever. I've been using it for about 4 years - but not often enough.
That's for sure.

I just did a custom quilt this weekend and used the CL for my perfect concentric circles for the corners and sides.
I also used the CL ZigZag giant templates for the edgy crosshatch in the field of this Just Can't Cut It quilt.
CL perfect lines, circles, etc and makes my quilting look better. I have more photos on my blog.

My fav is the Swirls design boards. My customers love it as well and it has been a big money maker and is so easy to use. I have even used the
Swirls design on the interior of a quilt and did a beadboard border on the black fabric using gold thread. It looks like a custom job and makes me
looks really good.

Hi Is there a website to view the Circle Lord and see what it involves and the prices? I'd really be interested in something to help make my
quilting look more professional.

The Circle Lord is probably the easiest thing to learn and work with. and the owners are fantastic, I could not say enought good things about them.
Very helpful and they have payment plans so it makes it affordable early on!

hi anna,
the circle lord is worth it! i thought about it for a long time & kept looking at the website repeatedly. i also kept reading about everyone's
success with it on this forum. i finally made the leap & i am very happy i did. i'm not very experienced with my millie yet & it gives me an edge
on confidence. before cl i was wondering how long it would be before i would be able to quilt my quilts and be really happy with them. i'm there!
i have the baptist fan, featherz, gingko, spirals & have tried all of them out. it's great because you can order and pay it out. michael & kay care
about their customers & it is very evident. if you order, you won't regret it. the only intimidating part was raising my machine. i made up my
mind one evening to do it & i did it by myself. it really was not hard. the hard part was thinking about it!

I absolutely love my Circle Lord and have almost all of the template. Michael and Kay are the best people and have become wonderful friends over the
years. In addition to using the templates for designs like starz, heartz, ginko leaves, etc., it's amazing how often I'll use it just to plop a
circle down and then fill it in with cross hatch, or something else. Using it for accurate circles alone would make it work the investment. The rest
is icing on the cake. I can't say enough good about it.

Everyone,
Thank you so much for all the advise and recomendations. The pictures you've shared are just wonderful. I agree that just being able to make a
perfect circle is worth a lot !
Hopefully, I will be able to buy a CL before too long.
I do have one other question, do you leave the clamping mechanism on the machine all the time, or do you have to remove it and reinstall when you want
to use the templates?
Thanks again,
Anna

Take mine off - it is always just a step away and 15 seconds or less to put it on! It takes longer to make sure certain designs are centered properly
- though that is easy too - my biggest problem is that I do not have the word patience in my vocabulary!!! Now, now, now............. LOL

Like the others have said, I take mine off. It is very easy to take off and put on. There is a leaver that tightens the CL to the table. All you do is
lay it down on the table, pull the leaver toward you and start quilting. When you are finished you push the lever away from you, pick up the CL and
put it away....it is that simple. You don't need an extra set of hands or tools, you don't need to hold your tongue just right and pray that you get
it on right. It is too, too easy to install and uninstall.

On and off is sooo easy. Lift the lever to loosen the snug fit on your table, and then just lift it up/off. Putting it back on is just a easy. Set
it on the table where you want it, flip the lever down which tightens it to your table so it doesn't slide around while you're quilting. No tricks.
Just extremely user friendly.
I believe you will be very happy with the CL products ,should you decide to make the purchase.
