Who is Tilly?

Tilly is a longarm by APQS that’s like no other machine on the market. She’s an industry leading machine and the product of home-grown Iowa engineers re-imagining a quilting machine from the ground up.

Genesis Technology is APQS’s brand new patented technology for longarm quilting machines developed by APQS engineers right in the heart of America. A technology built BY quilters, FOR quilters.

Instead of the clunky, loud and wearable linkage systems of traditional longarms, Tilly uses two digitally linked motors. The result is a longarm that is quieter, more maneuverable, better balanced and more intelligent than any other.

What does APQS Genesis Technology mean?

Genesis Technology results in a quieter longarm with less vibration. Another benefit of Genesis Technology is improved weight distribution of the longarm which allows the machine to guide more easily for improved handling during stitching, especially during detailed work like micro-quilting. Genesis Technology also includes a new Turbo Baste mode with an adjustable length, rapid-fire basting stitch, a long requested feature for APQS longarms. Additionally, Genesis Technology includes a programmable Quilt Glide feature for accurate and smooth transitions between micro-stitching and larger designs. Genesis Technology results in a more open head and smaller top arm creating more visibility all the way back to the take-up roller. Stitching feels effortless without any blind spots.  Possibly the most exciting advantage of all: APQS Genesis Technology includes a replacement for mechanical hook timing called AccuSync.

What is AccuSync?

Because of Tilly’s digitally linked motors, she calibrates herself at every startup. Every time you turn on your machine, Tilly syncs herself and makes sure everything is dialed in before you stitch. If timing ever shifts (even after a needle break), the machine effortlessly resyncs herself, eliminating the need for mechanical timing adjustments.

Introducing the APQS app

APQS has an app just for longarm owners. The APQS app will connect via Bluetooth to your Tilly, giving you the ability to share diagnostics remotely with APQS service, should the need ever arise. But you don’t have to own the latest longarm (or any longarm) from APQS to enjoy the benefits of the app. The app boasts a vast knowledge base of written manuals and hundreds of quilting videos. Videos on topics ranging from free-motion design ideas, to Quilt Path tutorials, to longarm machine maintenance.

What else makes Tilly special?

Tilly comes with a 26-inch deep throat, adjustable lighting options (including blacklight), a user-friendly touch-screen interface, industry leading visibility around the needle bar, a Turbo Baste mode, and programmable Quilt Glide for accurate and smooth transitions between micro-stitching and larger designs.
