Introducing
Genesis Technology

A patented dual digital motor system that reimagines the longarm from the inside out

The Technology Inside Tilly

What is Genesis Technology?

Genesis Technology is APQS’s patented digital dual motor configuration for longarm quilting machines. Where traditional longarms rely on one large motor and a mechanical chain of pulleys, bearings, and drive shafts, Genesis uses two precision digital motors placed directly inside the machine head.
The result is a fundamentally better machine – one that sees more, moves more precisely, runs more quietly, and connects to support in ways that were not possible with traditional architecture. Genesis is what makes Tilly the most advanced longarm APQS has ever built.

Ways Genesis Changes the Experience

What Genesis Does for You

A complete rethink of what lives inside a longarm machine.

AccuSync
Auto-Timing on Every Startup

Genesis is what makes AccuSync possible. Every time you power on Tilly, AccuSync automatically syncs and calibrates the machine before your first stitch. If timing ever shifts – even after a needle break – AccuSync detects it and makes the correction automatically.

No manual re-timing. No service call. No guesswork. It is like having a technician built right inside your machine. AccuSync is an industry first, exclusive to APQS Genesis Technology.

Turbo Baste Stitch
A programmable basting stitch

Genesis improves Tilly’s Turbo Baste Stitch – a programmable basting stitch regulated by APQS stitch regulation that stitches as fast as you can move the machine at your chosen stitch length.

Unlike competitors that offer only a fixed, slow basting stitch with limited adjustability, Tilly lets you baste on your terms. And unlike previous APQS models, which had no basting option at all, Tilly includes Turbo Baste as a standard feature.

Remote Service via the APQS App
Bluetooth connectivity

Genesis enables Bluetooth connectivity between Tilly and a new APQS mobile app. From your phone, you or an authorized technician can access machine status, view and adjust parameter settings, and resolve issues without waiting for a service call.

Access your digital manual and training videos directly from the app. This capability is not currently available on any existing APQS models – and is not commonly offered by competitors.

Industry-Leading Visibility
Free motion flows more naturally

Genesis enables a smaller top arm and a more open head design, giving you an unobstructed view of your full work area – all the way to the back take-up roller. Ruler work feels easier. Free motion flows more naturally.

This level of visibility is not achievable with traditional single-motor configurations – the mechanical drive system simply does not allow for it.

Quieter Operation
Quiet by Design

Genesis eliminates many of the mechanical components that generate noise in traditional longarms – pulleys, bearings, and shafts. The result is a significantly quieter machine designed for home studios and shared living spaces.

APQS will publish Tilly’s measured dB level. We are inviting competitors to do the same.

Better Balance and Free Motion Control
Perfectly Balanced Performance

Genesis repositions motors and rotating assemblies to better distribute weight across the front and back of the machine head. This improves ease of movement during free motion quilting, reduces fatigue on long sessions, and enables a new level of micro-stitching precision.

Tilly’s Quilt Glide micro-stitching performance is pushed further than any previous APQS model – and beyond what competitors can currently match

Improved Front Handle Placement
Quick Access Design

Genesis enables a redesigned top head cover that moves aside for quick, easy access to cleaning, oiling, and inspection of the top rotating assembly.

Less time on maintenance. More time quilting. This is a meaningful improvement over current APQS machines and a leading feature in the industry.

Additional Tilly Features

More Than Genesis

Genesis Technology is the foundation of Tilly – powered by APQS Genesis Technology – but it is not the whole story. Tilly also includes a suite of new features that make it the most capable and user-friendly machine APQS has ever offered.

Easier Oiling and Top Head Maintenance

Genesis enables a redesigned top head cover that moves aside for quick, easy access to cleaning, oiling, and inspection of the top rotating assembly.

Less time on maintenance. More time quilting. This is a meaningful improvement over current APQS machines and a leading feature in the industry.

Needle Laser

Precision laser crosshairs show you exactly where the needle will land – making it easier to follow patterns, start and stop precisely, and line up each new pass with confidence.

Dimmable LED lighting with black light function

Bright, fully dimmable LED Lighting. The built-in black light function is especially helpful when using light thread on light fabric.

Two-Position Thread Stand

The standard front-mounted cone holder keeps your thread cone within easy reach. Prefer a rear thread setup? An optional rear thread stand is available to customize your quilting experience.

Quilt Path Ready

Tilly is compatible with Quilt Path Pro and Quilt Path Essentials right out of the box. Add computerized quilting now or later – Tilly is built for it either way.

Premium VIP-Exclusive Color Options

Tilly is available in three limited-edition colors exclusively for VIP Club members: Tilly Rose, Tilly Fern, and Tilly Sky. These colors are included at no additional charge (a $500 value) and will never be available to the general public.

Genesis Technology is exclusive to Tilly

Genesis Exclusive to Tilly

Genesis is not an upgrade option or a software feature – it is the architecture that Tilly is built on. It cannot be added to existing APQS machines. The only way to experience Genesis Technology is to own a Tilly.

FAQs

Common Questions About Genesis Technology

Can I add Genesis Technology to my current APQS machine?

Yes, it is possible to add Genesis Technology to your current APQS machine, but it depends on the specific model and compatibility. You may need additional hardware or upgrades, so it’s best to check with the manufacturer or supplier for confirmation.

What makes AccuSync different from standard machine timing?

AccuSync differs from standard machine timing by providing real-time synchronization instead of relying on fixed settings. It continuously monitors performance and automatically adjusts to keep everything running smoothly and in sync. In contrast, standard timing is preset and doesn’t adapt to changes, which can lead to skipped or poor-quality stitches and broken needles.

How does remote service actually work?

Remote service allows technicians to connect to your machine via the APQS app. They can monitor performance, diagnose issues, and adjust settings without being physically present. They can also update software or guide you through fixes in real time. This reduces downtime, speeds up support, and often eliminates the need for on-site service visits.

Is Tilly really quieter than other longarms?

Genesis eliminates many mechanical noise-generating components found in traditional longarms; Tilly is designed for home studios and shared living spaces.

Does Genesis affect stitch quality?

Yes- more consistent better microstitching etc.

Which APQS machines have Genesis Technology?

Genesis Technology is available on some APQS machines, including Millie, Lucey, and Freddie. It is not included on all models. You should check with APQS or your dealer to confirm compatibility with your machine.

Is Genesis the same as Quilt Path?

No, Genesis is not the same as Quilt Path.
– Genesis Technology: focuses on improving machine performance (like stitch control and smooth operation).
– Quilt Path: is a computerized system that automatically moves the machine to quilt patterns and designs.
In short: Genesis improves how the machine stitches, while Quilt Path automates how the quilt is created.
