Free quilt pattern: Daystar 2017
Did you get to see the solar eclipse? Even if it was too cloudy in your area to take in this astounding sight, you can still commemorate the stellar event by creating your own version of Daystar 2017! This fabulous pattern by APQS dealer Sheridan Carter lets you showcase your favorite fabrics through floating stars that shine brightly against a colorful background.
Sheridan chose a vibrant green batik to surround the stars she created from a fat quarter bundle. The bundle made it easy to make each star a different color…but this quilt would also look stunning with stars that matched or even scrappy stars. The simple circular quilting pattern makes the stars seem to spin in orbit! Sheridan chose a matching lime green Glide thread to add just a pinch of sparkle to the quilting.

She has insight into what a quilter can do to take a quilt to the next level as she helps quilters accomplish their goals and dreams.
Stop by her studio from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, or Mondays by appointment. Sheridan’s studio offers assistance, ongoing training, tools and machines that allow a quilter’s confidence to soar. You’ll find lots of classes available, along with six APQS longarm machines to help you finish your quilts fast and easy. The machine rental classes are a great way to see if longarm quilting is for you, with an experienced instructor always available to help you with questions as you work.
