Carol Singer was born and raised in Upper Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where she still resides with her husband, David, and many colorful quilts.
With a background in graphic arts, many of Carol’s quilts are very graphic and exhibit a depth that is unique in this 2D art form. She found very early on that what she loved most was color and design. As a result, her quilts take on a very contemporary look, stemming from her embrace of vibrant color and exploration of geometrical forms.
Carol has taught in several local shops and is currently doing lectures and workshops for guilds teaching innovative techniques. She has also taught at the In Stitches Show in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania in 1998.
Her work has been featured inInnovative Piecing by Rodale Press (2000) and Artful Applique by Jane Townswick (2001, published
by Martigale & Company). Most recently, two of her quilts were
featured in the American Quilter’s Society calendar for 2006 and 2009. Many of
her quilt have also been accepted in national and international shows,
including the Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza, the Mid-Atlantic Quilt
Festival in Virginia, the AQS American Quilter’s Society Show in
Nashville,Tennessee, the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas, and
Quilt Expo in Wisconsin.
