Noriko literally paints landscapes with a longarm machine, using thread for colors and stitches for brush strokes. Her quilts have an impressionistic quality about them, reminiscent of Monet, but with vibrant hues.
Her art has appeared in national exhibits, including Quilt National Best of Show, viewer’s choice, Quilt Visions, Quilts Nihon, in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Japan. She has been teaching in twelve countries around the world including nine years at IQA Houston. Recently she opened her studio in Tokyo. She published her book, Confetti Naturescapes from Dragon Threads publisher in Ohio.
