Heidi Kaisand's - Hen House

APQS Sales Manager, Heidi Kaisand, has a passion for red fabrics and is always trying to work them into her next quilt project.
This particular print was combined with another passion for chickens. Inspired by her personal blog, Hen and Chicks Quilt Studio, Heidi combined the traditional Hen and Chicks block and the red fabric to create a table runner for her dining room.
It was quilted by Sue Urich on an APQS quilting machine.

The Flying Needles Quilt Guild's - Starry Nights
Every year, quilt guilds around the country create special projects to raffle or auction off during an annual quilt show. The Flying Needles Quilt Guild of Niceville, Florida, is no exception. Making a raffle quilt can be a challenge. The group looks for a pattern that will catch someone's attention and will make them want to buy a chance at winning it.
The group selected Starry Nights Block of the Month (Starr Fabrics) as a starting point. When it came time to select fabrics, they went with a known show-stopper: bright, bold hand-dyes on solid black.
Seven guild members pieced and appliquéd the original border, giving APQS longarm quilter Patty Butcher the perfect backdrop for outstanding quilting.
It's a winning combination.
