"Sparkle Plenty" Wins At AQS 2004

Officials with the American Quilter's
Society announced Tuesday that world renown long arm quilter and
APQS instructor, Marilyn Badger, and Claudia Clark Myers won Best
Longarm Machine Quilting at the AQS 2004 quilt show
and contest.
The 20th annual show was held in Paducah, Kentucky.
Badger's quilt, the "Sparkle Plenty,"
(pictured, left) won
Best Longarm Machine Quilting, one of
the top four awards presented at AQS.
"Sparkle
Plenty" was designed and pieced by Claudia Clark Myers, of Duluth,
MN.
Claudia and Marilyn have successfully
teamed up in the past. Most recently "Mediterranean Beauty", winner
of several national awards.
AQS is considered the most prestigious
and first major quilting show in the United States.
Badger and Clark Myers' entry was one of
425 quilts competing
in the 2004 show. Prizes this year total close to $100,000 in
14 categories.
Badger has been quilting for more than 25
years and has won numerous awards at top quilting shows across the
USA.
More than 35,000 people
attended the show.
