You simply must quilt on an APQS machine to fully appreciate the stitch quality and ease of operation. You don't need to be an experienced quilter to sense the unmistakable touch and feel of an APQS machine or to appreciate its responsiveness.

What gives an APQS machine its consistent stitch quality and makes it so user-friendly? Our construction techniques and design choices play a critical part in satisfying the individual needs of our customers.

The quilting head must withstand various pressures while minimizing deflection and vibration. Therefore, we designed it with extraordinary care. Our time-tested methods allow you to enjoy ultra light quilting head weight. The less a longarm vibrates, the higher the stitch quality. Less vibration also translates into more precision for intricate quilting. This weight savings has allowed us to design a track system utilizing fully adjustable horizontal wheels.

Our wheels "cling" to the edges of the table and carriage, if you will. They are adjustable so that each customer can "fine tune" the way their machine glides on the tracks. This results in ease of operation without sacrificing APQS's distinctive sensitivity, responsiveness and precise stitch quality.

APQS engineers carefully chose synchronous belt drive as the means of transferring power to both shafts, designed and constructed in a way to provide precise machine timing for sewing in all directions. In addition, belt-driven technology requires no lubrication and is quieter in operation.

Our integrated stitch regulator, designed and perfected by APQS, lets you put stitches exactly where you want them.

APQS's single thread tensioner enhances our precise thread tension, provides better stitch quality and enables you to use almost any good quality thread, even popular decorative threads. We designed our machines to use "L" size bobbins because the machine is an industrial, high-speed machine in which the hook rotates around the bobbin twice for each stitch made. With the "L" size bobbin, the hook has ample time to rotate twice without the operator slowing to ensure perfect stitch quality. Find out more about our SmartBobbin.

Our exclusive lower thread cutter saves time and stress. Think about how many times you clip threads and start another design on each quilt. What a timesaver! Our fully adjustable multi-position ergonomically designed handles with fingertip controls reduce fatigue and eliminate much of the risk of carpal tunnel-type symptoms. In addition, you enjoy a full, unobstructed view of your stitching area. All of these things work together to bring out the quilt artist in you!
